We are proud to announce our Inaugural Speakeasy Ball! Join us Saturday, August 26, 2023, at The Sewell Mill in Bremen, GA for a night of 1920’s themed fun, dinner, drinks and dancing while we raise funds to support survivors of Domestic Violence in our community.
Our organization is funded through community donations as well as local, state and federal grants, unfortunately we are facing potential federal funding cuts which could be devastating to our ability to provide safe and effective services to the growing numbers of survivors of domestic violence reaching out for assistance, our services grew 23% from 2021-2022. The purpose of this event is to offset these funding cuts and hopefully allow our agency to increase our capacity.
The West Georgia Domestic Violence Shelter strives to serve survivors of domestic violence and their dependents throughout our service area of Carroll, Coweta, Haralson, Heard and Meriwether Counties. It is our mission to provide safe shelter, supportive services, legal advocacy and necessities to survivors of domestic violence at no cost and free of any discrimination or biases to empower each person to live a safe, self-sufficient lifestyle, free from the detrimental effects of domestic violence.
