A Taste of Thailand Arrives to Hudson Mill

The managers of 202 Bangkok Thai and Sushi Bar have officially opened their doors at 202 Bradley Street in Carrollton. According to management, they decided to open this restaurant to allow individuals of the community “to have a choice to chase a different selection or menu like poke bowl, healthy food, and sushi.” They also mentioned that their chef has over 30 years of experience preparing this type of cuisine.

“The biggest motivation that we talked about [with] this place is that back in May we actually took our two boys back, since they were babies, to Thailand. And we also went back to my home country in Laos, and I haven’t been in 45 years since I left the refugee camp. So just go back and walk the streets of Bangkok, and enjoy the street food you know, and I’m like we need to bring this to share this with Carrollton and Carroll County, where you don’t have to have the passport to fly, you know,” management stated.

Both explained that this is the reason that the menu consists of a mixture of Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine. “You know because in Southeast Asia we’re all one big melting pot. We kind of blend our recipes and our food, so that was one big motivation in bringing it here,” they said.

202 Bangkok offers starters such as edamame, crab rangoon, potstickers, and phi phi shrimp. There are soups and salads on the menu like miso soup and ginger salad. There are a variety of entrees, curries, and poke bowls as well. 202 Bangkok will be closed on Mondays and will open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M., close for a break, and reopen at 4:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. On Saturdays, the hours will be 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with no break and Sundays, 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. (Hours could change, please watch Facebook for the latest) The restaurant will offer alcohol such as sake when they have completed the process of receiving their alcohol license.
