Keep Carroll Beautiful Receives $5,000 Brace Grant To Improve Litter Removal Programs In Carroll County, GA

Keep Carroll Beautiful received a $5,000 grant from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, a statewide organization that leads more than 70 city and county affiliates in their efforts to end litter, reduce waste, promote recycling, and beautify communities.

Now in its second year, the grant program was made possible by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division through the Solid Waste Trust Fund. It aims to reduce litter, blight, and illegal dumping on public property and encourage code enforcement efforts. Keep Carroll Beautiful was able to apply for the funding thanks to the cooperation of the Carroll County Board of Commissioners and Carroll County Solid Waste.

“Keep Carroll Beautiful is delighted to receive the funds which we plan to spend on high visibility vests, warning signs, and additional volunteer supplies,” said Martyna Griffin, KCB’s Executive Director, and added, “We planned the ‘Clean, Green, and Beautiful Carroll County’ Litter Cleanup campaign for this November, and these funds could not have come at a better time to help us ensure our volunteers have much-needed safety gear.”

“We are grateful to Keep Carroll Beautiful and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation for their efforts in securing the funding that addresses the litter issues affecting our neighborhoods and promotes behaviors that make our community shine,” said Michelle Morgan, Chairman of the Carroll County Board of Commissioners.

“Clean, green, and beautiful spaces enable everyone to thrive,” said Natalie Johnston-Russell, executive director of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation. “They attract businesses, protect local wildlife, and become vibrant places for families, neighbors, and visitors. We’re thrilled to offer funding that will facilitate this locally.”
