Curious Cantina Brings New Mexican to PTC

As you drive through the Kedron Village Shopping Center you might think things are getting “curiouser and curiouser.” The Curious restaurants have added a third to their lineup, the Curious Cantina!

They opened in late November, and it’s not your usual Mexican restaurant. It’s a unique spot, heavily inspired by a crew trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. Mac Turpin, Chef and Director of Operations for the Curious restaurants, and crew were inspired by the culture, family heritage, and the sublime street food created from the freshest ingredients.

“This is our dream that we’ve wanted to do for a long time now. We wanted to open up a truly traditional Mexican restaurant that actually has, you know, real food that we have in Mexico… I just feel like nobody down here has that… So we brought it to Peachtree City,” says Mac.

And they brought fresh, no freezer, everything-cooked-in-house food. The menu is true to southwest Mexican cuisine. “I want to let our guests know to be open minded when they step into our restaurants. I want them to [not be scared] of the food we have because a lot of people don’t know what it is yet.”

Mac recommends the Pulpos con Papas, grilled octopus with rustic potatoes tossed in chimichurri with a bit of chicharon. And to drink, “I would just come and try our classic margarita. We use fresh ingredients. We squeeze out lime every single day, fresh agave, and really really awesome tequila…called Lunazuel.”

Customers sure have given the Curious Cantina a chance. “People are loving it…and it’s cool. The opening has been so much fun,” Mac goes on to say.

“We live in Peachtree City. This is our home. This is where we want really cool restaurants because I’m not saying that we don’t want to drive to Atlanta, but we also don’t want to drive to Atlanta.”

“We want our town and the people that live in our community to enjoy the food that we have and that we cook and that we’ve enjoyed…I want ‘em to try the unique and awesome flavors that we have here. And then, you know, also come back whenever you find it delicious.”

They are open Friday and Saturday 11:00 A.M. – 10 P.M., Sunday 11:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. and Monday – Thursday 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Find them at 1261 North Peachtree Pkwy, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269. Keep up to date with them on Instagram and Facebook or visit their other restaurants, Curious Pig in Peachtree City or Curious Kitchen in Senoia.
