The City of LaGrange is hosting the ‘Ride for Mayor Willie T. and Car Show’ on Saturday, April 13th at Sweetland Amphitheatre.
This event will begin with a car show at 10:00 a.m. and end at Noon. At that time there will be a short awards ceremony. Following the ceremony, all vehicles are invited to participate in the “Ride for Mayor Willie T.” processional to Antioch, the late Mayor Willie T. Edmondson’s hometown.
Mayor Pro Tem Quay Boddie decided to create this event to honor the memory of the late Mayor Willie T. Edmondson. “Mayor Edmondson was a mentor to me and I always looked up to him. I know he had a love for cars and I thought this was a good way to bring the community together, keep his legacy alive, and raise money for his scholarship fund.”
