The blue-feathered jaybird is known for its beautiful color, intelligence, and a tight family bond. The Crafty Jaybird in LaGrange, Georgia, also has family ties. Andrea Cummings along with her husband and mom are the owners of this unique home-décor store. They also run the business themselves. The décor wares are made in-house by Andrea and her husband.
When asked about the jaybird name, Andrea disclosed, “[When I was] growing up, my late father nicknamed me Jaybird. Since his passing last June, I wanted to honor his legacy and combine it with my love of crafting.” The shop has been a dream of Andrea’s for a long time. “I have a love for decorating, crafting and design, so I wanted to share that with my community.”
The Crafty Jaybird offers a variety of items, including new and found vintage pieces along with custom wood pieces, such as wooden book stacks, door hangers, blanket ladders, and welcome planters. The shop also stocks a unique variety of seasonal and everyday items that include small furniture pieces, floral stems and arrangements, candles, and a custom trucker hat bar. To make shopping even more inviting, they offer pillows, small kitchen and collegiate items, custom wood-working pieces, and wreaths.
Adding to the fun, The Crafty Jaybird will host a monthly craft night which customers can sign up for. Andrea explains, “We will have two options of crafts for the customers to choose from. I will instruct everyone on how to paint and craft these items. It will be a time for fellowship and crafting.”
A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st at 3:30 P. M.
