Bennie’s Corn Maze is a family-run attraction in rural Ranburne, Alabama, named after the previous landowner: Ms. Bennie McCaghen’s family heritage seeps throughout the property. The family noted. “it only felt appropriate to pay her tribute through the family business.” With a great respect for family legacies, the siblings and their significant others built their own. Kyle and Hannah Pollard, Jon and Emmie Longshore, Aspen and Kayla Henderson, and Abby Thomas create a rural escape for their children, their community, and anyone who wants to visit Ranburne for fun fall festivities.
Designed for all ages, Bennie’s Corn Maze is open every Saturday and Sunday in October, offering pumpkins, tractor rides, farm animals, a corn pit, and a completely transformed corn maze. With plenty of space for kids to play and adults to relax, Bennie’s Corn Maze doesn’t need to be a rushed, hour-long trip. Jon Longshore elaborates, “We specifically wanted a place where we could bring our small community together and slow down, sit under the pecan trees, and stay awhile.”
After their successful first year in business, the family have dedicated much of their time and efforts to making the 2024 experience even better. A huge focus has gone into some of Bennie’s favorite food items: corn dogs, hotdogs, and hamburgers made on site as well as other specialty items, such as yummy corn dip. Other new additions this year include a 50-foot jump pad and a spooky, haunted corn maze every Saturday after dark.
The family is looking forward to doing this for many years to come, but don’t miss out on the chance to “get lost” at Bennie’s Corn Maze this October! Visit their Facebook page for more.
