A new RaceTrac could be built at Highway 29 South at April Court which is just south of I-85 and across from Pilot. If approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals on September 26, the Board of Commissioners would give a final decision on October 15.
According to the application filed, RaceTrac is proposing a service station and requesting the zoning to change from RC (Rural Conservation) to LM (Light Industrial). They are looking to reduce the required minimum 100-foot vegetative buffer along the property line.
It was also noted that the site plans show a rather large diesel service area and adequate truck parking. RaceTrac recently opened a location on Poplar Road just a quick three miles north of this location. RaceTrac continues to build its Newnan/Coweta County presence.
