Though Present and Peripheral – an exhibit of the work of multi-media artist Jennifer Printz – opens at the Carrollton Center for the Arts October 31.
“The pieces in this show have a minimalistic quality that illustrates a subtle beauty,” said Visual Arts Coordinator Marcella Kuykendall. “Monochromatic patterns and geometrical forms contrast with the light airiness of photographs of open skies, playing into the phenomenological themes in Printz’s work.”
Printz works with a combination of different processes and media, like the hand-drawn mark with a collaged photograph, painting and sewing.
The exhibit runs through December 9 and is sponsored by Dr. Charles and Marilyn Hubbard. A free public reception in honor of the show will be held at the center November 7, 5 – 7pm.
