Southern Inspirations Creative Home Décor—a Home Away From Home

Linda Knickerbocker is southern to the bone, and it shows in the warm and cozy atmosphere inside her shop. After retiring from a successful corporate career, she decided to open Southern Inspirations Creative Home Décor — an establishment Linda hopes to be one where, “You can get to know others in the community and enjoy a quiet, peaceful shopping experience.”

Asked about the shop’s name, Linda said, “ ‘Southern because of days gone by in small towns…big front porches where neighbors would visit while sipping on cold iced tea and lemonade…children caught fireflies…and the smell of apple pie cooling in the kitchen. The reason for Inspirations’: I hope that shoppers will be inspired to reach outside of their comfort zone and explore their creative side once they see our artisan collections. ‘Creative Home Décor’ represents our vendor family of incredibly talented, creative, and passionate individuals that pour their heart and soul into their craft.”

Speaking of vendors and what they bring to customers, Linda and her vendors are stocking decorative throws, pillows, signs (including the Georgia Bulldogs and local school teams), candles, soaps, a full line of Beehive Bathhouse products, skin and haircare products, and so much more. It’s a shop where anyone can find a perfect gift for those on their holiday list. Only a handful of items are priced over $40.00.

Linda went on, “We are a small, family-run business working to promote other small businesses. We have new vendors coming in that will add to the unique products we offer and will continue to source special one-of-a-kind items for our shoppers.”

When asked what she wanted to say to her current customers Linda replied, “I would say thank you so much for supporting us and spreading the word about our little shop throughout the community. Future shoppers, please support our local small businesses. Help us to demonstrate to entrepreneurs that Temple and the surrounding communities will welcome and support them. Temple is a great place for small businesses.”

Southern Inspirations Creative Home Décor is located at 285 Carrollton Street Suite 111, Temple, Georgia 30179. You can also find information on the shop’s Facebook page.
