Central High School Awarded Bright Ideas Grants from Carroll EMC

Central High School was awarded four (4) Carroll EMC Bright Ideas grants for use in teacher classrooms. Mrs. Jane Lyons grant funds will be used to purchase six (6) different labs that will allow students to evaluate evidence similar to what can be found at an actual crime scene. Mrs. Brandi Pearson wrote her grant request for the purchase of Super Talkers, a unique speech device that has various over lays that can be used to assist students who are unable to express themselves through voice communication. The Super Talker gives the user increased opportunities for communication using a different mode to verbalize their wants, needs, feelings and thoughts.

Central High School Principal Mr. Kelly Edwards stated, “I couldn’t be more proud of our teachers and the effort they put into bringing a higher level of instruction to our students. Carroll EMC has supported grant applications from schools across Carroll County for countless years and their continued support gives our students more opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.”
