Phat Phil’s Closes After 24 Years, Draketown Eats Set to Take Over

After 24 years of serving the community, Phat Phil’s has officially closed its doors at 8901 GA-120 in Temple, Georgia. The longtime local favorite, known for its welcoming atmosphere and comforting meals, has been a staple in the Draketown area for over two decades.

Restaurant owner Phillip Young shared a heartfelt message with customers following the announcement. Since his wife first posted about the closure on Facebook, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. “I want to personally say thank you for all the years of support and love that you have shown us,” Young said. “We love all of you guys and will miss every one of you.”

Young and his family had been praying for a way to retire, and that opportunity came with a new restaurant stepping in to fill the space. The owners of Downtown Eats will be reopening the location as Draketown Eats in the near future. According to Young, the new restaurant will continue serving some of Phat Phil’s classic menu favorites while also introducing new dishes. “We feel like you will be in good hands,” he reassured customers.

Though Phat Phil’s is closing, its legacy remains in the hearts of longtime patrons. As the space transitions into Draketown Eats, the community will soon have a fresh take on familiar flavors while still honoring the restaurant that came before it.
