Power of the Purse is rolling out the red carpet for its annual Spring Luncheon, and this year’s theme is straight out of Hollywood! Join us as we celebrate the power of women’s philanthropy while enjoying an inspiring lunch featuring special guest speaker Wendy Price.

This year’s luncheon will feature Carrollton native Wendy Price, a 40-year veteran of the film industry who has worked as a Production Accountant for major studios like Warner Bros, Universal, and HBO. With credits including Driving Miss Daisy, He’s Just Not That Into You, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Ozark, Wendy will share fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and insights from her career in Hollywood.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, Power of the Purse is dedicated to making a real difference in Carroll, Haralson, and Heard counties. Thanks to our incredible donors, last year’s luncheon helped fund $17,600 in grants to nine local nonprofit organizations, supporting programs that uplift and empower women and children in our community.
“The ladies who support POP are more than just attendees of an annual event— they are changemakers,” said Kim Jones, President of the Community Foundation of West Georgia. “Power of the Purse allows women in our community to come together, pool their resources, and directly impact the lives of those in need. Tickets to the event are available exclusively to those who partner with Power of the Purse, with an annual commitment of just $100. This partnership provides the opportunity to take part in grantmaking decisions that directly impact local nonprofits while connecting with like-minded women who are passionate about giving back.
