Lakeshore Pickleball Complex Opening March 29

After months of construction, the City of Carrollton will celebrate the grand opening of the Lakeshore Pickleball Complex March 29, 10am – 2pm.

“Our department is excited to showcase our city’s new first-class pickleball facility,” said Carrollton Parks and Recreation Director John Layng. “It will be a great day for the entire community. There will be something for everyone to take part in, from the expert players to those wanting to learn about the game.”

The event will feature free beginner instruction in what has become one of the country’s most popular sports. Attendees can also enjoy open play, kids’ activities and vendors at the 19-court complex at 116 Lumpkin Drive. Paddles and balls will be available on site for the day.

The city is working with the West Georgia Pickleball Association to help facilitate the courts’ use. Members of the association will help plan and implement programs and events at the facility including leagues, clinics and tournaments for all skill levels. They will help organize open play and teach newcomers how to use the paddle stack system.

“The WGPA is thrilled to unveil the city’s new state-of-the-art pickleball facility, which is a game changer for players of all levels,” said West Georgia Pickleball Association President Chris McGuire. “This new venue reflects our commitment to growing the sport and providing a top-tiered experience for the community. We are looking forward to welcoming players, fostering competition and continuing to elevate pickleball to new heights.”
