Those honored from across the district’s four schools include Pam Armas, Jenny Pate, Donna McBrayer, Londa Bush, Pam Coats, Toni Lovvorn, Sheila Marlow, and Andri Pilgrim. The Board also bid a bittersweet farewell to Assistant Superintendent Zoe Evans as she steps into retirement.
New faculty approvals mean all Bremen City Schools will be welcoming fresh faces this fall. Nancy Devon Kelley and Katie Berryhill will be joining the team at Jones Elementary School. The Board also approved extended hours for Jones paraprofessional Emily Yauger and a promotion for Gwen Yates. Bremen Academy will welcome paraprofessional Angelica Cowart to its staff. At Bremen Middle School, Rebecca Hendrix, Jarrett Thomas, and community baseball coach Grady Bell will join the faculty. At the high school level, Ingrid Salinas will come on board as a teacher, and Whitt Brown will move into the newly created role of Associate Principal. This position was developed to assist Dr. Tim Huff as he balances his role as Principal of Bremen High School with his new position as Assistant Superintendent. In addition to Dr. Huff, Silas Brown has also been promoted to Assistant Superintendent.
In other updates, the Board unanimously approved a Resolution for the Sale of the Racetrack Property and all adjoining parcels to the City of Bremen. The motion was made by Tony Armas, seconded by Brandon Barrow, and passed by vote. With this approval, the Board authorized Chairman Pelt and Mr. Christian to enter into an agreement and proceed to closing on the property.
The Board also discussed the completion of the district’s new dog park, noting that the only element still pending is the installation of a self-watering dog bowl. They also approved renovations for the Bremen Middle School baseball and softball fields and made plans to resurface the tennis courts. The goal is to complete these projects over the summer.
Altogether, students at Bremen City Schools can look forward to new faces and upgraded facilities when they return in the fall.
