TaraTwirls, a Carrollton-based baton twirling and dance studio, made a powerful showing at the 2025 National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) National Championships, held July 13–19, 2025, at the University of Notre Dame. The studio’s athletes delivered standout performances, earning national recognition and bringing home multiple top-ten finishes.
TaraTwirls has been entertaining crowds for over 15 years at parades and halftime shows, but this summer, their competitive edge took center stage. All five of the studio’s competition teams placed in the top 10 nationally, cementing their place among the best in the country.
Team Results from 2025 NBTA Nationals:
- Junior Team: 2nd Place
- Primary Team: 4th Place
- Senior Team: 6th Place
- Beginner Junior Team: 6th Place
- Youth Team: 9th Place
These national results came just weeks after a clean sweep at the 2025 Southeastern NBTA Majorette Competition in May, where all five teams took 1st place in their divisions.
TaraTwirls also saw major success in individual events:
- 27 routines placed overall
- 13 placed in the top 10
- 7 finished in the top 5
- 1 student earned 1st place nationally in her event
“This was a huge week for us,” said studio owner, Tara Lowry. “Our athletes showed up ready to compete, and the results speak for themselves. This kind of success doesn’t happen overnight and it’s the result of months and years of hard work and determination.”
TaraTwirls is now enrolling new students. Parents interested in getting their child involved in baton twirling or dance can visit TaraTwirls on Facebook to learn more and sign up.
