Groundbreaking Held for Carrollton’s Third Free-Standing Chick-fil-A on US 27

Chick-fil-A lovers in Carrollton, rejoice—another location is officially on the way! The city’s newest Chick-fil-A restaurant broke ground this week on US Highway 27, just north of the intersection with Georgia Highway 113.

The new site at 1302 US Highway 27 (North Park Street) is located between Carrollton Church of Christ and Mike Bell Chevrolet, in a growing commercial corridor just minutes from downtown. This groundbreaking marks another major step forward in the restaurant’s development.

In July of 2024, the Carrollton City Council unanimously approved a rezoning request for the property—shifting it from C-2 (General Commercial) to Planned Development (PD). This change allows for front-of-building parking and a site layout better suited to high-volume traffic. The council also approved a reduction in the landscape buffer along the front property line from 10 feet to 4 feet to improve drive-thru flow.

The upcoming Chick-fil-A will feature a double drive-thru, indoor seating for 100 guests, 16 outdoor seats, and 56 parking spaces. The building will sit parallel to the highway to optimize space and traffic movement for both dine-in and drive-thru customers.

With permitting already approved, construction is officially underway. Once complete, this location will be Carrollton’s third free-standing Chick-fil-A and fourth overall, joining existing restaurants on South Park Street and Bankhead Highway, as well as the location inside the University of West Georgia Commons.
