Construction is officially underway on a new BP convenience store at the corner of Lorna Smith Road and GA 34. The project is being developed by Gratitude Group 33, and it marks another addition to the steady stream of new development along this busy corridor. The City Menus has been keeping an eye on the site for several months, and after a long wait, crews have now broken ground and begun work. Once completed, the BP location is expected to offer fuel pumps and a modern convenience store setup, serving both local residents and travelers passing through the area. In addition to the BP, another convenience store is also planned for construction next to the new Tim Hortons further down GA 34, signaling even more activity along the corridor.
Not far from there, construction has also begun on a new Ponko Chicken location on Glenda Trace, directly across from Foxtail Coffee. The City Menus confirmed the restaurant’s arrival several months ago, and now, with ground officially broken, work is moving forward on the site. Known for its Japanese-American fusion chicken tenders and signature sauces, Ponko Chicken has been steadily expanding across metro Atlanta, and this new Newnan location brings the brand closer to residents on the west side of town. The restaurant will feature a drive-thru-based layout, offering added convenience for those on the go. In the same Thomas Crossroads area, a new Chipotle is also nearing completion across from Chick-fil-A and should be opening soon. With several projects in motion around Glenda Trace and GA 34, the area continues to see steady commercial activity. Keep watching The City Menus for updates on these projects and more business developments happening across the region.
