Tanner Health and Healthliant Ventures are pleased to announce a partnership with Newton’s Tree, a global healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) company, marking a significant milestone in its expansion to the United States.
By working together, Tanner and Newton’s Tree will be able to expand the role of responsible AI in clinical care and lay the foundation for a long-term strategy to scale the use of AI solutions in a way that strengthens quality, safety and patient trust.
“We chose to partner with Newton’s Tree because they bring something unique: a proven, vendor-neutral platform that puts governance and clinical needs first,” said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health. “For Tanner, this isn’t about chasing technology for its own sake — it’s about ensuring that any AI we bring into our system meets the highest standards of safety, effectiveness and trust. Newton’s Tree has shown they can deliver that in Europe, and we’re excited to apply that same rigor here in the US.”
Under the new partnership, Tanner will work with Newton’s Tree to test and deploy AI products as part of its long-term commitment to integrate innovation into patient care.
“Ultimately, the measure of success for us is simple: how well we serve our patients,” said Ben Camp, MD, chief medical officer at Tanner Health. “Responsible adoption of AI has the potential to improve the way we deliver care, whether by reducing delays, supporting physicians or making our services more efficient. Thoughtful partnerships like this one will ensure we introduce these tools thoughtfully and in a way that benefits the communities we serve.”
Newton’s Tree provides healthcare organizations with a vendor-neutral platform to select, test, deploy and monitor AI applications as part of routine care. Built on open standards, the platform supports applications across specialties and includes the ability to test both pre-market and in-market AI solutions. This partnership extends the mission of Newton’s Tree beyond Europe, strengthening its role in enabling safe and effective AI adoption across US health systems.
“Newton’s Tree has been privileged to work with some of the leading hospitals in the UK National Health Service to build a foundation for safe, effective AI adoption,” said Haris Shuaib, CEO of Newton’s Tree and National Health Service (NHS) consultant clinical scientist. “The US healthcare market is one of the most dynamic and innovative in the world, and we’re excited to be working with Tanner. They’re a forward-thinking health system with a strong commitment to governance and patient outcomes, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner.”
