Jonaz Walton made it official. He signed his letter of intent this morning with family, coaches and friends. Jonaz will be attending the University of Notre Dame on a full athletic scholarship.
Jonaz has been a state and national ranked running back for the Central Lions all four years of high school. He graduates in December 2025 and will begin classes on January 12, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana. He plans to earn a degree in computer science.
Central High School Head Football Coach Umbrah Brown had this to say, “What an awesome day for Jonaz and his family! He has worked for this day for a long time. Jonaz exemplifies what it means to be a Lion! Work ethic, dedication, consistency selflessness, and commitment; he is a constant role model for future generations and will do great things in South Bend.”
The Fighting Irish football program began in 1887 and has a historic, rich tradition of excellence. The Irish are led by Head Coach Marcus Freeman.
