The City of Bowdon is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Wilson as the new Bowdon Main Street Director.
Wilson is a well-known member of the Bowdon business community, having owned and operated Cover Me Southern Boutique for more than ten years in the heart of Main Street. Throughout her time as a small business owner, she received several recognitions, including being voted Best Boutique in the State of Georgia in 2017, receiving the Carroll County Chamber Start-Up Business of the Year Award in 2018, and being named Best Boutique in Carroll County in 2022.
In May, Wilson joined the City as the Bowdon Main Street Assistant. She stepped into the role of Interim Main Street Director at the end of October and was officially appointed to the full-time position by the City Council and City Manager Bobby Elliott on Monday, December 8.
A Carroll County native, Wilson brings a deep understanding of the local community, strong leadership experience, and a commitment to the continued success of Bowdon’s downtown district. As both a former business owner and long-time resident, she is dedicated to supporting small businesses, fostering development, and contributing to local economic growth.
Wilson and the Bowdon Main Street Board are enthusiastic about the future of Bowdon and are looking forward to a successful and vibrant 2026.
