The City of LaGrange wants to advise residents of several street closings in anticipation of the 2026 MLK, Jr. Parade in downtown LaGrange on Saturday, January 10th.
The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m., but streets surrounding the parade route will begin closing at 12:45 p.m. Ridley Avenue, from Smith Street to W. Battle Street, and Church Street, from Smith Street to W. Battle Street, will be closed to traffic starting at 10:30 a.m. and will reopen immediately following the parade.

Sweetland on Ice will remain open.
This year, the MLK Parade route will begin and end in front of Sweetland Amphitheatre, 110 Smith Street. The route will head south on Church Street from Sweetland, continue onto Bull Street, and loop around Southbend Park to Main Street. The parade will then head back north on Main Street, continue onto Ridley Avenue, and return to Sweetland.
The Zeta Phi Beta sorority, Theta Xi Zeta chapter, sponsors this parade each year. This year’s theme is “’Unity and Diversity’ Where Do We Go From Here?” The grand marshal of the parade is Clyde F. Reed.
