Mellow Mushroom – the stone-baked pizza bakers with 160+ locations nationwide – announces a new, nearly 3,000-square-foot location will open in Newnan, Georgia this summer 2026. Located at 733 Bullsboro Drive, the restaurant will mark the brand’s 45th location in Georgia and operate as a company-owned store.
Mellow Mushroom was originally founded in Georgia over 50 years ago, and Newnan will be the brand’s second location (following Atlanta’s Grant Park) that mirrors its latest prototype. The restaurant’s new model serves up counter service ordering, guest-friendly technology, urban design, and inventive new menu additions.
“Newnan is a vibrant and growing community with a strong sense of character, which makes it a natural fit for Mellow Mushroom,” said Ahsan Jiva, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Transformation. “We’re excited to expand our presence southwest of Atlanta and bring our unique atmosphere and handcrafted food to Newnan as we continue growing across Georgia.”
Newnan will offer a familiar lineup of hand-tossed, stone-baked pizzas and Mellow vibes along with vibrant selections of shareable munchies, greens, remixed sandwiches, smash-style burgers and sweet treats. The Newnan location will channel retro-psychedelic nostalgia through warm tones and 1970s-inspired design elements, reimagined with a modern touch. The space blends vintage character with contemporary style, creating an atmosphere that feels both familiar and new.
Touted for its devout following and counterculture essence, Mellow Mushroom blends the boundaries between art, music, high-quality ingredients and passionate standards for dining. Widely known as the originator of hand-tossed, stone-baked, one-of-a-kind pizza, the main menu – anchored by its coveted “secret dough” recipe – boasts cult-favorite pizzas like the Holy Shiitake Pie with olive oil and garlic base, shiitake, button and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, Wisconsin aged white cheddar, a garlic aioli swirl, a spritz of black truffle oil, fresh chives & shaved parmesan. Highly customizable Build-Your-Own pizzas are also available, creating the perfect canvas for a kaleidoscope of ingredients with options for meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free and other dietary-conscious diners.
