The Bremen Board of Education opened its April 13 meeting by recognizing a strong group of student achievements across academics, athletics, and the arts.
Ryder Mitchell was honored as the 2026 GACA State Powerlifting Champion in the 160-pound weight class, receiving a plaque for his accomplishment. The board also recognized Bremen’s Class 1A Division State Literary Champions, marking the twelfth consecutive year the team has earned the state title. Students and coaches were acknowledged for their continued success, with several individuals earning top honors in their respective categories including Michael Paul Agey, Lanier Aldridge, Campbell Solberg, and the duo of Lanier Aldridge and Mia Mastroserio.
Beyond the recognitions, the meeting reflected steady momentum across the school system. Students are preparing for the upcoming testing season, while extracurricular programs continue to excel. Bremen’s baseball team recently secured a region championship and is heading into state competition, with tennis, gymnastics, and track teams also competing at high levels in the coming weeks.
Additional highlights included student participation in leadership opportunities through the Georgia Chamber of Commerce program, as well as achievements in the arts and culinary competitions. Mary Beth Hall of Jones Elementary earned statewide recognition in a culinary event, while her daughter Emma took first place in a middle school art competition.
The board also approved several items supporting student experiences and school operations, including a senior trip to Dollywood and facility use requests for community athletics. Updates shared during the meeting pointed to continued improvements across the system, including upcoming facility upgrades and preparations for summer projects.
Overall, the meeting reflected a positive outlook for Bremen City Schools, with student accomplishments and ongoing progress continuing to lead the way.
