BREMEN, GA – May 5, 2026 – TCR Towing & Recovery, proudly owned by Tommy Ray and his son, T.C. Ray, celebrated its 45th anniversary in April. Since its founding in 1981, TCR has grown from a single one-ton wrecker operation to the largest heavy-duty towing company between Birmingham and Atlanta.
The company began in April 1981 when Tommy Ray and his wife, Patricia Ray, purchased a 76 service station in Bremen, GA. Starting with one single-line one-ton wrecker, the business quickly expanded, purchasing the first rollback truck in Haralson County in 1985. Co-founder Patricia Ray, who passed away in 2024, was the driving force behind the business operations, leaving her role as a bank branch manager to become TCR’s full-time bookkeeper and office manager in 1989. Her legacy of hard work and business acumen continues to live on at TCR.
Tommy Ray’s dedication led the company to focus exclusively on towing and recovery around 2000, leveraging his trucking background to drive strategic growth. Key milestones include expanding to Carrollton in 2004, acquiring the Jim Davis Wrecker business in 2005, partnering with AAA in 2006, purchasing their first rotator in 2007, opening the Heflin, AL location in 2010, and being the first in the region to join the GDOT TRIP program in 2015. Today, TCR operates 35 trucks, employs 27 people, and proudly serves 12 municipalities.

The celebration of TCR’s 45th anniversary extended beyond the family. On April 24, 2026, the company’s valued partner, Peach State Truck Centers of Villa Rica, honored the milestone by hosting a special luncheon at the TCR facility. TCR is deeply appreciative of our continued partnership and eagerly anticipates many more years of shared success.
Tommy and Patricia’s son, T.C. Ray, grew up in the business and joined full-time in 2009. T.C. is committed to maintaining the company’s strong reputation while focused on continuing to grow the business and making processes more efficient.
