Through some investigative work I recently found out that the first location of a possible hotel downtown was directly behind The AMP. A lead architect with the former project off Bradley Street is now preparing to take on the Courtyard by Marriott behind the Cultural Arts Center. The old mill site behind The AMP has sat empty for years. I honestly think this location would be perfect for loft style housing. There might be an issue with parking for a hotel. For a year or so I did hear rumors of a hotel being built on Bradley Street but ever since the release of the Courtyard by Marriott behind the Cultural Arts Center ,the mill plans have silenced.
The first site of interest for a hotel / convention center was directly behind the AMP. Discussions have disappeared due to the new hotel approved for behind the Cultural Arts Center Downtown.Â
