Dedicated to honor the brave men and women of our military, the Douglasville Military Honor Garden will celebrate its completion with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony will take place tomorrow morning 11 a.m. at Hunter Memorial Park located at 8830 Gurley Road.
“This project has been amazing,” explained Chan Weeks, executive director of Keep Douglasville Beautiful. “KDB has enjoyed working with so many wonderful community members who have lent support and resources to make this project a success.”
Located next to the Robert G. Hunter Memorial, the project broke ground back in June. Featuring an open lawn, garden beds, and benches, the Military Honor Garden also includes five granite markers representing each military branch.
“We hope the Douglasville Military Honor Garden will be lasting reflection of the gratitude and appreciation we have for all military, both active and veteran,” said Weeks.
