LaGrange, Ga. April 17, 2018 – A group of City of LaGrange employees participated in an extreme team building experience Saturday, April 14th – the Fort Benning Spartan Ranger Challenge Sprint. The group calling itself Team WWIT, or What Was I Thinking, was comprised of nine city employees all forty-five years of age and older.
The Fort Benning Spartan Ranger Challenge Sprint is a 5.5 mile race that includes 20 military inspired, measurable obstacles. It’s built with the help of the Ranger Battalion, at the site of the Best Ranger competition.
The Development Authority of LaGrange sponsored the team of nine city employees. “We made the decision to participate in the Spartan Fort Benning Sprint as a team building exercise and soon realized the impact was underestimated, “said Development Authority of LaGrange President Scott Malone.
“Each person has strengths and weakness but by working together collaboratively our team persevered to overcome individual weaknesses to ensure the success of the team. Working side by side with people who share the vision of team success is inspirational and we are honored to work with each other every day.”
Team members include Scott Malone, Kelley Bush, Jody Perdue, Glenn Conroy, Patrick Bowie, Jim McLaughlin, Scot Bowen, Christine Reeves, and Katie Mercer Van Schoor.
