A local Pizza Hut employee recently won top honors in a regional pizza-making competition. Harlie Bailey, an employee of Carrollton’s Pizza Hut located at 928 South Park Street, will travel to Charleston, South Carolina, on September 14 to compete in the 2018 Pizza Championship.
“It’s pretty awesome, and I’m really excited,” said Harlie.
Harlie, 19, will compete against other Pizza Hut members from across the southeast in the annual competition which involves top employees from over 50 locations. She recently took home first place out of more than 25 other Pizza Hut employees from other locally franchised locations.
According to the Pizza Hut website, competitors are judged based on a standards knowledge test which factors in a pizza-maker’s product quality, accuracy, and speed.
“If she wins in Charleston, she will go on to compete in the national competition in Texas,” said Michelle Earp, manager. “She’s been working here for almost a year, and she’s a great employee and a true role model. She’s very respectful and sweet, and we’re really glad that she’s on our team. She’s been here less than a year and she’s already doing great things.”
Harlie says she enjoys working at Carrollton’s Pizza Hut and hopes to move on to the national competition.
“I love working here,” said Harlie. “I like everyone who works here, and they are all really helpful and really good to work with.”
