Central High School senior Colson Hoffman signed to wrestle for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Air Force Academy scholarship is valued at more than $416,000. Colson plans to study work towards a business management degree with the goal of joining the Secret Service or the military branch of the Central Intelligence Agency. Colson is the second Central High School wrestler in as many years, to sign with one of our Nation’s military academies. He is the first Central Lion to sign with a Division 1 program.
The U.S. Air Force Academy was approved seven years after the Air Force was established, in 1954. After 21,000 miles of traveling to potential sites, an appointed commission recommended Colorado Springs as its first choice, which is where the Academy resides today. The Academy boasts 4,000+ current cadets, 31 Programs of Study, 27 Division 1 Athletic Teams, an 8:1 cadet to faculty ratio, and 24 research centers.
Colson was joined by his family and friends for today’s signing.
