The Carroll County Community Theatre’s production, A Twisted Christmas Carol, puts a Texas spin on a classic tale at the Carrollton Center for the Arts, December 5 – 8.
“I love the story and message of A Christmas Carol,” said Arts Center Manager Tim Chapman. “Our production this year delivers the same outcomes, but within a whole new environment. The show is funny, but still manages to capture the spirit of this classic story.”
A Twisted Christmas Carol is a spoof of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, set in a small west Texas town on Christmas Eve. Cantankerous barbecue joint owner Buford Johnson gets hit by a twister, setting him on a whirlwind of an adventure.
“The best thing about live theater is the collaboration between actor, director and crew,” said the show’s director, Cindi Winstead. “We are blessed to have seven talented and creative performers bring their improvisational skills and wackiness to this show. When preparing for this production, I developed a vision of how to tell this story, but the talent and creativity of this cast have taken that original vision into unexpectedly hilarious places. Our audience is going to love this group of Texas misfits!”
This production is sponsored by Tritt Realty.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youth and can be purchased online at carrolltonarts.com, by phone at 770-838-1083 or at the center’s box office at 251 Alabama Street.
