Tanner Medical Foundation has been awarded a significant grant from the Daniel Foundation of Alabama.
This funding will support Tanner Health’s Get Healthy, Live Well — an initiative dedicated to preventing chronic disease and promoting active, healthy lifestyles across the community.
Get Healthy, Live Well aims to reduce the prevalence of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity by encouraging physical activity, recommending balanced nutrition and providing resources and education to the community.
“The support from the Daniel Foundation of Alabama will further enable us to expand our outreach efforts and bring life-changing health resources to more individuals and families in the communities Tanner serves,” said Nichole Fannin, executive director of Tanner Medical Foundation. “We are deeply grateful for their commitment to improving health outcomes across east Alabama.”
This grant comes at a pivotal time, as Get Healthy, Live Well has recently been able to expand resources in east Alabama, alongside the broader growth of Tanner’s services in the region.
“Our commitment to the east Alabama community remains steadfast,” said Clint Hoffman, senior vice president of Tanner Medical Group. “We continue to work to expand access to medical services through investments in our primary care clinics and expanding specialty care services, including cardiology, general surgery and oncology. Now, with the support from the Daniel Foundation, we can further improve access to wellness education and activities provided through Get Healthy, Live Well that will improve the quality of life and health outcomes of those we serve. We are incredibly grateful for this gift and the impact it will allow us to make.”
With this funding, Get Healthy, Live Well will be able to enhance its current offerings, including wellness workshops, fitness sessions and community health education– empowering individuals to lead more active and fulfilling lives.
“We are thankful for our partnership with Tanner Medical Foundation to help expand Get Healthy, Live Well throughout Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne and Randolph counties, and believe that community-based programming around nutrition, lifestyle changes and increased physical activity will lead to a better quality of life for Alabama families,” said Maria Kennedy, executive director of the Daniel Foundation of Alabama.
The Daniel Foundation is known for its dedication to supporting initiatives that strengthen the health and well-being of Alabama residents. This partnership reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to creating healthier, more vibrant communities.
