Land Disturbance Permit Issued for Villa Rica Site Along GA-61

A new land development project is underway in Villa Rica following the recent approval of a Land Disturbance Permit by the City of Villa Rica. The permit, officially issued on May 12, 2025, authorizes activity at 100 Hickory Level Road, a site adjacent to GA-61. The project involves hauling and dumping materials from the Villa Rica By-Pass GDOT project (dirt and shot rock) and encompasses less than one acre of land.

The permit, categorized under zoning and disturbance regulations, was granted to property owner Ashish Patel, whose mailing address is listed as 1611 Perry Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA. The contractor handling the land disturbance is Astra Group LLC, known for its infrastructure and development work throughout the region.

Aerial imagery included in the site plans shows the scope of the grading and hauling area, highlighting clear outlines of work zones. According to the documents, the permit allows operations until November 12, 2025, providing a six-month window for completion.

The approved activity is part of a larger effort to manage terrain near the Villa Rica By-Pass GDOT project.

Oversight and inspections for the project will be managed by the City of Villa Rica’s inspection office. The total permit fee was $750, which includes all necessary approvals and administrative processing.
