Greater Haralson Chamber Partners With TydenBrooks to Launch Teacher Externship

The Greater Haralson Chamber proudly launched the TydenBrooks Teacher Externship, an immersive, weeklong professional development experience designed to connect education with industry. This innovative externship, sponsored by the Greater Haralson Chamber, took place at TydenBrooks, a global leader in security seal manufacturing headquartered in Tallapoosa, GA.

Educators from Haralson County Schools and Bremen City Schools received a behind-the-scenes look at modern manufacturing and its many career pathways. The selected participants, Gail Brown (Bremen City Schools) and Melody Goodwin (Haralson County Schools), spent five days inside TydenBrooks facilities, learning about everything from engineering and quality control to logistics, human resources, and production.

“The TydenBrooks teacher externship, made possible through the partnership with the Greater Haralson Chamber, Haralson County Schools, and Bremen City Schools, gave educators insight into modern manufacturing,” said Maegan Rutherford, Greater Haralson Chamber Workforce Committee Chair and HCHS College and Career President/CEO. “Manufacturing is our largest industry sector, but students often don’t realize the variety of high-wage, high-demand careers available—from engineering and industrial maintenance to accounting—right here in Haralson County.”

“The Greater Haralson Chamber is committed to continuing this important work to align education with our local industry needs and help develop the next generation of Haralson County’s skilled workforce,” said Tara Chapman, President/CEO.
