The City of LaGrange is expanding its current online permitting portal to include Special Events. This updated process will provide event organizers with guidance through the permitting process as well as help in planning safe and successful events.
Special event permits are needed when an event uses part of the public right-of-way. This includes parades, road races, charity walks, and similar events. This updated process allows event organizers to apply for and receive their applications online. It also encourages collaboration and information sharing.
“Events that take place in and around our communities are just that, ‘special’. They give our citizens the opportunity to come out to fellowship, reconnect, and support local businesses as well as others,” said Community Development Director Alton West. “We salute the planners of these events and wanted to further streamline the process of obtaining a permit. This new portal will provide organizers with the convenience of completing an application from the comfort of their business, home, or wherever they are. They are then able to track the process of their application within the portal, step by step, until approved.”
