A Major Retail Surprise Is Headed to LaGrange — Guess Who’s Moving In

Ross Dress for Less is planning a new location at 299 Commerce Avenue in LaGrange, Georgia, in the former Bargain Hunt space at Commerce Plaza. According to architectural plans, the store will follow Ross’s 25,000-square-foot turnkey prototype.

At this time, construction has not begun. The City of LaGrange confirmed that no permits have been issued, as bidding is still open for a general contractor. We’ve reached out to the leasing company for details on the construction timeline or expected opening date and will update as we learn more.

The project, listed as Store #2851, is based on architectural plans dated October 2, 2025, and includes updates to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the space. Plans also designate areas for stockrooms, fitting rooms, employee offices, and customer service, following Ross’s established layout for remodels within existing retail centers.

Ross Dress for Less is a major off-price retailer offering name-brand clothing, shoes, accessories, and home goods at deeply discounted prices. With more than 1,500 locations across the U.S., the chain is popular for its “no frills” shopping experience that appeals to bargain hunters seeking value without sacrificing quality. Its proposed arrival in LaGrange is expected to draw increased traffic to the Commerce Avenue corridor.

Another retail store is also planned for the area, though details will be announced at a later date once plans are officially released. In other retail news, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses will soon open at Suite 200 in Plantation Village, next to Subway on 1468 Lafayette Parkway.
