The Carroll County Community Theatre celebrates the season of peace with its unique wartime production, All Is Calm, December 4 – 7, at the Carrollton Center for the Arts, .
“This musical breaks new ground for us – an all-male cast performing every moment in pure a cappella harmony,” said Center for the Arts Manager Tim Chapman. “This production captures a rare moment when humanity chose unity over division. In a world that longs for more of these moments, this is an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss.”
Subtitled The Christmas Truce of 1914, All Is Calm tells the true story of Christmas Day 1914 on the Western Front of WWI when a German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing Stille Nacht. Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music and peace during war.
“When I saw All Is Calm for the first time, it was a moving and deeply personal experience,” said the play’s director, Cindi Winstead. “As a military wife, I am viscerally aware of the sacrifices made by troops in both peacetime and wartime and I wanted this show – my last – to serve as a tribute to our military members and their families.”
All Is Calm is sponsored by Tritt Realty.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youth and can be purchased online at carrolltonarts.com, by phone at 770-838-1083 or at the center’s box office at 251 Alabama Street.
