Central High School senior Cole Burns was awarded a $500 scholarship from the League of Women Voters for Carrollton and Carroll County, Georgia. The scholarship is in honor of Carol Turner Beckham and for an outstanding effort engaging voter registration and the election process.
The award was presented by League of Women Voters President Ms. Jane Garrett and Vice President Melody Hopkins. Central High School Principal Mr. Kelly Edwards was on hand for the presentation.
Cole has plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall and earn a degree in economics.
