The cities of Carrollton, Georgia, and Foligno, Italy, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperative promotion of cross-cultural understanding, academic partnerships and mutual economic and cultural enrichment. The collaboration will begin with a university-level nursing exchange program and expand to include other areas such as sharing small business best practices, joint promotion of artisan products and local goods and encouraging artist exchanges among schools, including UWG and educational institutions in Foligno. This is the first step in the process of establishing a sister city partnership.
