Keep Carroll Beautiful is partnering with Carroll EMC to host a paper shredding and paint recycling event on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carroll EMC Robert D. Tisinger Community Center, located at 115 N. Highway 113 in Carrollton. The event will be held rain or shine, although organizers encourage residents to watch for any schedule changes. No early drop offs will be allowed.
The event is open to all Carroll County residents and gives the community an opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive paper documents and unwanted paint. Residents may bring up to three bankers boxes of paper documents at no charge. Additional boxes may be dropped off for $3 per box. Papers may be packed in bankers boxes, trash bags, or similarly sized containers. Large clips and binders should be removed before arrival, although staples are allowed.
Keep Carroll Beautiful is partnering with Access Corp. to handle the paper documents collected during the event. Residents who would like additional information about preparing documents for shredding can visit kcbga.us/paper.
Paint recycling will also be available for a fee. Latex paint will be accepted for $3 per gallon, while oil based paint will cost $5 per gallon. Only liquid paint will be accepted, and paint must remain in its original container. Containers should be clearly labeled as latex, oil, or stain and must be in good condition. Leaking containers will not be accepted, and paint cannot be mixed or consolidated into other containers.
Atlanta Paint Disposal will handle the paint recycling. Residents can find additional information about paint recycling requirements at kcbga.us/paint.
Payment for applicable fees can be made by cash, check, Venmo, or PayPal.
The event offers residents a convenient way to clear out old files, dispose of outdated personal records, and recycle leftover paint while helping keep unnecessary waste out of the community. Secure document shredding can also be especially helpful for disposing of papers that contain personal or financial information.
