Central High School junior Samantha “Sammy” Pazmino was selected by her Mock Trial Team sponsor, Mr. Mitt Conerly, to attend the State of Georgia Law Academy.
The Georgia High School Bar Association hosts a Mock Trial competition which oversees activities designed to increase students’ understanding of and appreciation for the law, court procedures and the legal system. Most notable is Law Academy, an immersive three day “boot camp” held in September each year. During the Law Academy boot camp students improve trail techniques, master rules of evidence, practice witness presentation and build leadership skills.
Fewer than 50 high school students were chosen to attend the academy. Based on her competition courtroom presentation performance and tests scores, Sammy was admitted to the Student State Bar of Georgia.
Sammy will be recognized in March at the State Finals Award Ceremony in Atlanta.
