A longtime Douglasville physician is moving her practice to the western edge of the county to take part in a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Tammy J. Robinson, MD, joined her father Clark Robinson, MD’s, well-established Douglasville family medicine practice in 1993. She and her father practiced together until his retirement in 2007, after which she continued in their family medical practice as a solo practitioner.
Dr. Robinson is board-certified in family practice. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta and completed her family practice residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.
At Tanner Primary Care at Mirror Lake, Dr. Robinson joins the patient care team of Alicia Jennings, MD, and Saman Razzak, MD. The practice is one of several certified Patient-centered Medical Homes operated by Tanner Medical Group.
The unique practice model places the patient at the center of a physician-led, team-based approach to improving patient care, helping patients learn more about their conditions and better navigate the complex healthcare system to receive the best possible care.
The model is especially useful for those who struggle to control a chronic disease — such as diabetes or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) — or who otherwise would benefit from greater access to education and resources to reduce the need for emergency department visits or hospitalizations. The patient care team at Tanner Primary Care at Mirror Lake works closely with patients on medication management, adopting healthier lifestyles, ensuring appointment availability with clinical providers, arranging follow-up care and referrals, and more.
