Southwire Making Stream Improvements Along Bypass

Southwire
To continue to improve the water quality surrounding Buffalo Creek, Southwire is working along both sides of the Georgia Highway 166 Bypass near its former Copper Division site. The work includes removing sediment from stream channels; adding limestone; improving existing concrete channels and building new ones; and constructing a water retention pond. All work has been approved by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and should be finished by June 1. Questions and concerns may be submitted to Gary Leftwich at [email protected] or (770) 832-4884.
