Written by Sunday Richie – Bridal Blossom’s And Special Events : Sunday Richie’s passion for flowers started long before she gained recognition as one of West Georgia’s leading floral designers and owner of Bridal Blossoms & Special Events located at 604 Dixie Street in Carrollton which will open in March of this year. “As a child, I would decorate my mother’s house making all sorts of silk flower arrangements for her,” Sunday says. I began working in a flower shop at the age of fourteen. As soon as I would get home from school I would go to work until the florist closed every evening. I loved learning about the care of fresh flowers and plants, and about the aesthetics and techniques of design. Sunday graduated from High School and went on to receive her Masters in Floral Design from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA. Later, she completed a B.F. A. in Art and a concentration in Interior Design from the University of West Georgia. Her unique creativity and love for wedding designs soon led her to a career in the design industry. Sunday’s special satisfaction comes from her wedding, party, and event work. “I enjoy the gratification of being a part of friends and family’s most memorable events.” It’s more than a job to me, which is why I find it so important to personally get to know my clients; to understand their vision, and ultimately, to provide an unforgettable memory of their wedding or special occasion.” To fulfill this goal, Sunday meets by appointment only with her clients at the beginning of the process to discuss their ideas, the feeling they want to create, their likes and dislikes. Sunday then provides creative solutions and ideas she has gleaned over her twenty-five years of experience as a wedding specialist in floral design. “It is a great help to clients to be able to envision the event. I can also coordinate all the dozens of other things that reflect the style of the event, such as linens, lounge rentals, favors, music, photographers, etc.,” explains Sunday. “In other words, I can be involved in event planning as much as the client desires.” When Sunday isn’t busy creating exquisite arrangements for her clients, she uses her Interior Design degree decorating homes all around metro Atlanta. Sunday is married and has two children. She also enjoys painting and sewing in her spare time. “I have always been amazed and inspired by nature, and how God has orchestrated even the smallest of details and has interconnected it with everything around it,” Sunday says. “My enthusiasm for nature is infused into my design work. It is my calling, and it is apparent in everything I design.”
