Kroger’s Division Office in the Northlake area of Atlanta confirmed to us earlier today that Kroger is eyeing a location in Villa Rica. The planned store will be at the southwestern corner of Hickory Level Rd and Highway 61. In March we spoke with the land owner who informed us of the possible Kroger however things were way to premature for something to be released. On May 5th a surveyor with Mastec emailed us about the new Kroger store plans. We then went to Carroll County Community Development to submit an inquiry into the property with Carroll Tax. Upon checking into the property it is zoned for Modular Homes and would have to be annexed into the City of Villa Rica along with being rezoned for Commercial. Currently the property sits in the county district. Upon confirmation by Kroger officials (Ms. Eyvonne Johnson Asst Real Estate Manager) at the Atlanta Division office we zoomed up to the property in VR. We found surveyors from Gaskins at the property who then confirmed to us the surveyor site plans in hand for Kroger. We visually saw the plans! We are unable to completely confirm how big the Kroger will be and how many out-parcels it would have. Again this possible Kroger is still in the infant stages. If anything else develops it will be passed onto you. Special thanks to Carroll County Development and Eli Zandman at Tomorrow’s News Today in Atlanta.
