Word last week comes to us by way of Richard Segal that a new fast food place will be joining the lineup in SE Douglas County. Taco Bell is planning a new store in the parcel next to Rite Aid at the corner of Lee Rd and Fairburn Rd. This is across the street from Paradise Crossing which houses the Publix store. We received the plans by way of a variance request by Taco Bell to the county for permission to build additional parking spaces. Right now because of the Hwy 92 LCI, businesses are allowed no more than 12 spaces within the designated area originally to plan the area with pedestrian walking and tighter density in mind. Taco Bell requests for 28 parking spaces. The new store will have the entrance on Fairburn Rd right next to the Rite Aid, as well as a shared entrance on Lee Rd where the Rite Aid and Family Dollar entrance is as currently. An entrance will also be built on the side street Taryla Lane as the Rite Aid and Shell station have currently. Construction should begin shortly after the matter with the county is settled, so look for a new Taco Bell in that area sometime this late summer or early fall. Also of note, the parcel next to the Taco Bell is also for sale. We will keep you updated if anyone else takes that spot.

Thanks again to Richard Segal for the tip!
