An update from our late April story here, Marva’s Place Southern Comfort Cuisine is now open for your comfort food needs for a unique southern experience. Located on Church St in the former Sweet Beignet Cafe, Marva’s Place offers diners the real southern experience with food offerings like Meatloaf, Rack of Ribs, smothered pork chops, and a variety of baked goods. Having just opened on the 10th, some of the reviews are already in and Downtown goers are liking what they see (and taste). One reviewer described the experience as a local version of Mary Mac’s Tea Room in Atlanta. Marva even greets you to make sure your dining experience is superb. Marva’s spot was a former French/Louisiana breakfast and lunch spot, as well as a Japanese Steakhouse and former Mexican restaurant. We are hoping this option fits this location well and we at the menu are excited to see a good southern cuisine local option open downtown to add to the eclectic variety by our local merchants. As we do for all new restaurants, Welcome to Douglasville Marva’s Place!
We looked for a website for their business or a facebook but couldn’t find one at this time. We will bring it to you when it’s up and running.
