Temporary Fireworks Store Opens 7/1

Opening 7/1 to bring in Ga’s new fireworks law.

It seems almost a tradition on this side of the Metro area when July 4th comes around, local fireworks enthusiasts head to the GA border with Alabama (or if you feel like a nice drive South Carolina), cross over the state line for a treasure trove of the crowd pleasers for homemade Independence Day celebration. This year, you won’t have to…(unless you’re a creature of habit and just want to). Just in time for the beginning of the new relaxed fireworks laws here in Georgia, which passed by the legislature to make fireworks that you could get in Alabama or South Carolina essentially legal, fireworks stores are popping up across the Metro Atlanta area. Douglasville is no exception with one about to open its doors in a temporary home inside the Douglasville Pavillion Shopping Center next to Petsmart.   TNT Fireworks will start selling in accordance with the law on July 1st. In addition to the TNT store, we have spotted a few independent vendors setting up booths in local parking lots for the occasion. Our followers have informed us of one set up at Fairburn Rd and Midway Rd in the package store parking lot. Here at the Menu, we spotted one being set up in the Rite-Aid parking lot on Chapel Hill Rd and Stewart Mill Rd. With the new law taking effect on July 1, we imagine these vendors will be setting up for other firework occasions as well such as New Years. We will keep you updated on Facebook if we spot any more around town in time for the 4th!
