Read and Ride at Bay Springs Middle School

unnamed

(Carrollton, Ga. August 31, 2015) Bay Springs Middle School has recently made two new equipment additions to their media center. With the help of Georgia Power’s Plant Wansley, the Bay Springs Media Center has added two recumbent bikes and two ellipticals for their Read and Ride Program. Jennifer Brewer, the school’s media specialist, says, “I often see people reading while exercising in the gym, so I thought it would be a great idea to add the equipment to the media center.” Students can read while experiencing physical activity. The program rewards students, aids when students are having trouble sitting still, and allows students who may not have physical education as a connection get the opportunity to be more active during the school day.
