If you’re looking for a great way to see art from within your community all for free, the art gallery at the courthouse has you covered. This fall at the Douglas County Courthouse you can submit your own works for display in the artists’ gallery. Currently on display in the 3rd floor Art Gallery are pieces from 13 local artists with 34 works such as the piece pictured above using a variety of mediums such as pastels, oils, and acrylics, as well as gourd art. Admission is free, and the display is open anytime the courthouse is open to the public. Residents can begin submission from now through September 30 for October’s display. Next month’s display will have the theme “Colorful Seasons” and can be hanging art such as paintings or drawings, or it can be 3-d art such as sculptures and acrylic works. The October display will open October 6th. Come support local community artists!

Thanks again to Wes Tallon for the information. The Courthouse Art Gallery is a program of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners through its Department of Communications and Community Relations.
